The Edward Bernays University of Applied Sciences is the first in Croatia to carry out comprehensive specialised education in communication management and public relations. At a time when the market lacks well-educated communication experts, numerous studies place communications at the top of most desirable professions. Bernays is the first in this part of Europe to fully integrate communication studies and to adapt them to the real needs of the market. In this manner, available to students from Croatia and the entire region is higher education at the highest academic and professional standards, which ensures a European diploma with the highest level of acquired competencies, recognised by the academic community and the labour market.

In a short period of time, Bernays has grown into an institution with the largest communication management study programme in Croatia. Bernays is unique in the entire region thanks to its extensive network of almost 70 partner institutions. The concept of strong integration of work placements into the academic system implies encompassing in the study programme a system for obligatory hands-on education, which is completely organised by Bernays. By doing so, students acquire competencies adapted to the contemporary trends and requirements of the communications market. With this kind of organisation, students begin their careers already in their first year of study. Bernays’ greatest value is its high quality lecturers, notable foreign and local experts from the academic world and from practice, academics with many years of experience, managers of leading regional public relations agencies, heads of corporate communications in national and international companies, as well as communications advisors from the non-governmental sector, state institutions and political parties. By combining academic knowledge with practical skills, students master all areas of communication management. Besides regional institutions, Bernays’ lecturers also come from leading higher education institutions so during their studies students can gain valuable international experience and, thanks to the Erasmus+ Charter, they can build on this by doing a semester abroad at one of the recognised higher education institutions in Europe.
